UCA-NI Community Pharmacy Management Programme

UCA-NI's new Community Pharmacy Management Programme has just completed its first cohort in 25-26. Primarily aimed at Foundation Trainee Pharmacists, this short course will cover the basic business topics essential for working within a Community Pharmacy.

The programme is 2.5 days and will run twice annually. Content comprises management essentials:  Finance Management, Purchasing & Prescription Coding, Service Delivery, Staff Management & Customer Engagement.

The change in our training programme has been necessitated by the move to a 6-month community pharmacy FTY placement, with the UCA programme offering a short intensive grounding in community pharmacy management topics.

Operations Manager Adrienne Clugston welcomed 30 Foundation Trainees to the first cohort of the new programme with a similar number expected in the Feb-Jul cohort.

The programme is also ideal for any registered pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, or non-pharmacist management, who are new to management or would like to brush up on management skills.
